The Gold Barrel Cactus or Echinocactus Polycephalus subs Xeranthemoides is a rare, cluster-forming cactus with fierce yellow spines. Its common name is the "Gold Barrel Cactus", which is not to be confused with the "Golden Barrel Cactus" This subspecies is especially valued by collectors for its attractive spine coloration and tolerance for harsh desert conditions.
