Agave mapisaga var. lisa, or Maguey Lisa, is a large and fast-growing agave valued for pulque and its derivatives. It is noted for its exceptionally high reproductive rate, producing numerous hijuelos and seeds, and for its potential as a high-Brix agave if carefully farmed. This variety adapts well across California and is considered a strong candidate for both traditional uses (aquamiel, pulque) and modern applications like biofuels and fiber products.
